First prize at the International Bamboo Construction Competition

he International Bamboo Construction Competition aims to invite engineering students to explore the potential applications of bamboo in the construction industry. The 2019 edition was held in Beijing and had as its theme the flowering.
The team impressed a jury of experts with its creative design inspired by Asian floral motifs. It uses natural bamboo stubble and a bamboo floor, with "petals" that function as movable doors that rise and fall on a pulley system.
